Question:

A degree in sociology?

At the college that I will be attending next year, the sociology department does not offer concentrations in specific fields for a major, but it does for course concentrations.

What nice paying jobs could I get with a sociology degree with course concentrations in public policy? What about a degree w/concentrations in public health and medicine?

(By the way, the department does offer minors in two fields : social and economic justice AND management and society)

  1. I have soc degree from UCSD. They have an incredible sociology program... and none of this will do d**k when it comes to getting a job. If you want to get a job coming out of school, do something else.

  2. Actually, the human resources manager where I work has her degree in sociology.  It takes time to work yourself up in the field, but the salary at the top isn't bad!
