A good table?

When dining in a restaurant, how do you choose a good table? What I mean is in terms of location. What location of the table in the restaurant is considered a good table?

I prefer a table away from the flow of traffic and next to a window.

A table out of the way of the "flow" of other diners, a table not near the kitchen, the restrooms, the entry/exit door(s) or heavy traffic.

I think that most people are hitting the nail on the head. Away from the bathrooms, kitchen, front door, high traffic areas.

I would also suggest staying away from food staging areas, bus stations, cocktail lounge and especially tables with children.

I'm also not a fan of sitting in the window so I can be the in the fishbowl for people walking by outside.

My ideal table is one where I can see the server and catch his/her attention if I want something. I want them also to be able to see my table without having to hover. If it's a restaurant I go to often, my choice is not where in the house  I'm sitting but where my favorite server is working.

IMHO, a good table is a booth in a back corner away from restrooms, enter/exit doors and away from the kitchen.  There is less traffic so quiet and cozy for a relating dinning experiance.
