A question about ROTC...?

Well, I'm entering my sophomore year in college, and I am thinking about joining the Navy. I really want to finish school since I've already started. So how can join ROTC, or find out if I qualify? Can I keep my current major? Also, how can I talk to my recruiter about this?

You don't talk to a recruiter.

You talk to the ROTC Department at the School.

Any student is allowed to take the first two years of ROTC,

You have to be selected for the last two years advanced courses.

And attend a 6 week field course during the summer before your junior year.

You can keep your current major , as long as your not on scholarship.

Scholarship students, have a list of majors they are allowed.

About any major is acceptable for any branch of the US Military. Now your school should have a military science instructor: go see him. Or look into the NAvy's website to find the closest school that offers NROTC. Qualification is not a big issue. I believe all you need is a 2.0 or 2.5 GPA

You need to go talk to the ROTC dep't.  You will finish school with your major.  You only need to take additional leadership labs, do PT, and do whatever training is needed.  You qualify as long as you have 2.0 or higher GPA, you are medically, mentally, and physically fit, and you have no serious past convictions.  You can start a 3 yr ROTC program and get commissioned as an officer. Best part is they will pay for the rest of your education and you will be paid monthly.  You pay with time though so make sure you want the Navy.

Basically, just go talk to the Navy ROTC program at your college.  If you do not have one, just look up Navy ROTC on line and you should be able to talk to a ROTC recruiter.  I would not recommend talking to a regular recruiter, look for a ROTC recruiter.  There will be one at any university that has a Navy ROTC program.

The can tell you how to get a scholarship, or just continue with classes and what your obligation will be, as well as if your current major will work for a commission.
