A question for hairdressers?

Hello there,

I have coloured my hair with a semi permanent colour, it was brown with hint of red which isn't my natural colour but wanted to go darker, so I bought darkest brown but the colour hasn't come out very nice, it looks a little harsh and unnatural and patchy.

How do I make a colour look even?

Also any tips on fading the colour quickly??? I hate it, please help.

Thank You!!

  1. shampoo 3 times a day. or you could strip the color but that isnt at all good for your hair.

  2. Okay, well, there is no sure fire to fix it yourself. If you want it done correctly, you will have to go into a salon. But if you want to try your hand at it again try this...

There is a level system in color, 1-10. 1 is black and 10 is light blonde. So lets say the box you purchased was a 4, you will want to buy a 6 next time. You don't want to make it any darker than it already is. Stick with the semi-perm and neutral tones. Apply it all over your hair from roots to ends. Roots first, then ends. Make sure it is completley covered, this is why it was splotchy before. You will have to let your fade on it's own. You can use a cheap shampoo, like pert plus and this help to strip away the color. But beware, if your hair is already dry, overwashing and using a shampoo like this will lead to more dryness and damage. I really suggest going into a salon. Good luck.

  3. Lots of ideas ...firstly just dye it again with a good quality product.

Us ethe new dye to get itr as close to your natural colour as possible even a littel  lighter. Avoid thing with teh work gold in as they will tend to go brassy. When you apply this do the roots first for about tyen minutes and then colour the rest of your hair and leave it on fro teh full development time.

If you do not want to do this then use a harsh shampoo liek a selenium anti dandruff (cheap) shampoo and teh colour will fade much more quickly but remember to condition well throughtout this process.

Or... buy a hightlight kist and streak it out with teh comb wand of a much lighter permanenet colour ....buy the same product make as teh original dye...

Failing all thi ssome excellent advice from other go to a hairdresser or if you are short of cash boook into your local college with a student hairdressing salon. You will be able to get a correction at a fraction of the cost of a salon.

  4. Use a coloring shampoo/conditioner such as Garnier Fructis. That works good because my mom dyes her hair all the time..

  5. Go to a professional. ANd have them remove the splotchyness. then in a month or two go back in to have it lightened.

    *HAVE A PROFESSIONAL DO IT!!!*
