A year in a different Country ?

If you were given the chance of living & working in a different part of the World for 1 year where would you go and why ?

I am American but I live in Australia.  I have lived here for 3 years and it has been a fascinating wonderful experience.  I would consider moving again.  Perhaps next time India.  I would like to learn another language and experience how it feels to look different from everyone around you.

I am an American student in Germany for a year.  I would reccomend it to anyone considering it!  Its an AWESOME experience.  Not only do you learn the language, but a WHOLE LOT about yourself as well.

I would love to live in America because everyone I've had cyber contact with from there has been friendly,and laid back,(like myself!),I also love the warm sunshine they have there all the time,I'd just love to go there,but if I did,I'd probably not want to come back to the UK,it's such a violent,miserable place,(and the weather is c**p!).

Perhaps Chile - I'd just walk along the coastline from the north right down to the south and if anyone asked me "Hey, Gringo - what are you doing?", I'd say I'm writing a book. That always impresses people and generally shuts them up; unless of course they happen to be an author too, in which case life becomes extremely tedious.... " No kidding, you're a writer too? Let's discuss Borges and Nabokov..."

I'm an Aussie girl but I LUV winter .. so maybe Canada or Alaska - I would love to work somewhere beautiful and remote, where its peaceful and there is absolutely NO traffic!!!
