  1. It absolutely does not matter which one you take. If you think you can do better on the ACT (30 translates roughly to a 2000 on the SAT) then take it. The SAT tests critical thinking more, while the ACT really tests if you learned several basic processes such as scientific method, analyzing graphs, math up to a little bit of trig, and reading much like the SAT (though the ACT reading is a bit easier in my view.

  2. yeah you don't have to take both, i did anyway just to see. just don't send your scores until you know the scores. ACT is easier, for me at least.

  3. If you score higher, it will. Most colleges use whatever test you scored higher on.

  4. The mere fact that you took both won't give you a better chance of admission. However, since you took the two tests, you should send whichever one you scored better on. THIS will give you a better chance to get into college.

Use this website to compare your SAT to ACT scores. Send whichever score you did better on.

Oh and just for a heads up, the average scores for UCLA are

    SAT-1600

    ACT- 22-23
