  1. It comes down to personal tastes to decide which one is easier.    I personally did slightly better on the ACT than the SAT.  I like that the ACT is shorter and doesn't penalize you for an incorrect answer.  You can read about the differences at www.collegeboard.com and http://www.act.org/ because there's a lot of format differences and question styles that would be faster for you to just read about.

  2. The ACT is shorter than the SAT.

People say the ACT is easier, but it depends on your strengths. If I were you, I'll take both, it looks really good on your college application.

  3. It really depends on the person..I took both.

the act is shorter time-wise but you test for long periods of time continuously whereas the SAT is broken up into more shorter tests..Like the SAT may have two 20 minute long math sections but the ACT would just do math for 40 minutes. I liked having less of the longer tests, but if you have a short attention span the SAT might be good

A benefit of the ACT is that a lot of colleges don't make you take the SAT subject tests if you take the ACT. if you take the SAT a lot of colleges require you to take up to 3 additional tests proving your proficiency in specific subject areas, and personally I thought they sucked.

I scored like exactly the same on both tests though...so I can't exactly tell you which one is easier.
