Question:

ADT or Binks?

For home security, which company is better - ADT or Brinks.

We have pets in our house, but they are usually outside if we are away (weather permitting).

Also, some of our doors are a bit old and may not close all the way, so my family would need an alarm system that will tell which zones/sensors are faulted (I know Brinks has some systems that don't have any kind of display).

And also, on a side note, what is the difference between "armed stay" and "armed night stay?"

  1. me i like brinks better but armed stay means u can open the door and the alarm will go off regular armed night stay will have a loud chime as if someone is breaking in if u open the door

  2. The first thing is to learn what makes a house vulnerable or attractive to thieves  and what household items are the most valuable. It used to be computers,TV's,VCR's, now that isn't worth the time or trouble. The Master bedroom top drawer is a place they start.I forgot to take into consideration quick drug money, Vacuums and anything that isn't nailed down.First I would call my Homeowners Insurance Co. and get a pamphlet from them on safety tips, then your local police department. When you go out as a family lock the bedroom doors from the outside.Draw up a family plan and if anyone breaks any of your family rules, they get fined. I would research all of the companies. My daughter has an alarm system, the problem there is so much coming and going, they don't use it unless they are all  out of town and that is rare. the downside to alarms you get so many false alarm warnings then  you get a fine.
