My Mum's family were from Bishops Nympton, South Molton and Chittlehampton.

I love Devon.

I was born in Bristol.

The Town where I live now (in the Midlands and about as far from the sea as you can get!) didn't have a cinema and after a lot of campaigning, a local business man, bought an old warehouse and turned it into "The Warehouse Cinema" - same films you get anywhere else, special Pensioners' Day and Children's showings.

Maybe a little campaigning in your area (Barnstaple?) might bring the same results.

My Dad's family hailed from Crediton.

I have sent Christmas in Devon and it was the most plea sent Christmas I ever had.

I am from Paignton, South Devon.  I haven't been to the cinema for a few years it is expensive.

I love Devon I live on isolated moorland, there isn`t a cinema or pub or public meeting place within fifth teen miles of my home in any direction. If I want to watch a movie, I can do so on television, but I have far better things to see and do without the pollution from car exhausts and the noise and litter from crowds of people. Although not a native born Devonion, I would not live anywhere else.even although I have seen some of the most exotic places on earth.

This really is a case of 'the other man grass is always greener' - because I live in Bristol - loads of cinemas, clubs, sports facilities etc. - yet I would just love to live in Devon, and I'm sure watching films on a cinema would be last on my list lol.  My son got married in Clovelly last year and so I spent a fair amount of time looking around the north Devon coast with him, - it's all so beautiful.  I would definitely take up walking, - and all those lovely pubs !!!!! - shall we change for a while lol?

You said better cinemas, down here we leave out the BETTER and would settle for cinemas.
