  1. Australians tell you how it is.

    There is no saving face or trying to be overpolite. If you are pissing them off they will let you know quick smart.

    You always know where you stand with an Aussie. They are honest that way.

    In Asia and many other countries there is a deception. You never really know what they are about.They wont tell you the truth but just smile and give the impression that all is fine when it may not be..

  2. The landscape is the most unique in the world from rainforest to desert to the great dividing range to the bush to the golden beaches, we have it all.

    The culture is multicultural, we are the best the world has all rolled into one.

    Our laid back attitude is a very distinctive feature of Australians.

  3. Nicky, we could go on about this topic for hours!  Here's a few points that I hope others haven't already made:

    * Australia is the driest continent after Antarctica;

    * It's also the flattest continent, bar none, and the only island continent;

    * Australia's plants are unique, with thousands of species found on no other continent;

    * the Lake Eyre Yacht Club is the only one in the world with a lake that is completely dry most of the time!  Here's a link: http://lakeeyreyc.com/  This amazing "lake" only fills up unpredictably for a few months once every few years.  Somehow the birds and other creatures that live in the lake know ahead of time when the lake will contain water, and travel long distances in their thousands to feed and breed there.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Eyre

    Australia was the first country to give women both the right to vote and the right to stand for election to the national parliament. (New Zealand gave women the first right but not the second, before Aus.)

    That should be enough!

  4. Kangaroos, Koalas, Echidnas, Platypus, Aboriginal's, G'Day's, mates, bloody flies and mozzies, ugh boots, RM Williams and good beer. It's the largest island in the world, also the only country that's a continent. Aussies are generally laid back but also hard working and most of us highly value friendship (aka mateship), generosity and good yarn.

    Is that a little too stereotypical?

  5. Im an Aussie :)

    I never say g'day or mate or fair dinkum

    ive never seen an echidna or platapus

    we dont have a certain culture ...

    so we are a culture made up of other cultures :)

    melbourne is like fashion town :)

    .. thats all i have .

    goodluck
