  1. All road tolls in Scotland have now been abolished by the Scottish National Party government, thereby over-turning years of mis-rule and unfair taxation by successive political parties based in London.

Since it costs more to collect the tolls than the actual toll revenue, Scotland will now be a wealthier state.

  2. If you abolish collection of toll fees then maintenance and operation of those roads would be taken from the State's general funds, money that would have been used by other programs.

  3. Chicago for exampe makes sense... thousands upon thousands of people from out of state drive through on 80, 90, and 94 every day.  The road is worn down form all the traffic, and its not really fair for the people of Indiana or the City of Chicago to keep footing the bill... so for the few times a year I travel through there... I don't mind paying my due for my part in the degradation of the road, and they have it set up to be fairly quick and painless --- same with the Ohio and Pennsylvania turnpikes... not sure about others.

  4. Road tolls are collected to refurbish the roads. how would you raise the money, it's only the users that are paying.
