Ok, my school's out but a while back, during school, everyone was Obama and Hillarry fans, boys likes obama, girls hilary, i myself was for and still am for hillary clinton, but, my teacher handed out a flyer with a grid on it showing each canidate's oppinions on the current issues.Everyone saw how all the democrats were for abbortions and john mccain was not.So, after that we had a school election, about 80% were for John McCain. When i tried to explain it to them they aaaaaaaaaall said, "God wouldn't want abbortions cause' killing babies is un-christian." or, "If they woman wants a baby, let them have, put it up for adoption." i was outraged, i was watching Carlos Mencia do stand up one day and he explained how the media makes blue states look promiscuis by allowing abortions and supporting birth control, i thought he was right but unfortunately my school was dragged into beliving this by stero-typing media.Oppinions?

  1. A small girl would not die, they would have a csection. The youngest girl to ever give birth was 5 yrs old.

  2. I would be all for outlawing abortions if I thought that such a ruling would actually stop abortions. Instead, a more likely outcome is that abortions would still take place, only under conditions that would probably kill the mother in addition to the unborn child.

This does not seem to me to be an improvement.

  3. Here is an opportunity to express my unusual and unpopular (with both sides) opinion on the merits of abortions and on its contemporary electoral importance. The latter observation first.

I have detected a lot less sound and fury over the question in this election cycle than previous ones. I don't see abortion as a central issue to very many voters. The extremists on both sides will be there of course, but it seems as if they are not getting much play right now.

Now, my opinion on the central question is this: I don't believe that men should have an opinion. I see the matter both personally and sociologically as a question to be decided strictly by women. They (women) are the effected parties, they should be able to decide the matter. I have long since stopped discussing the matter amongst my peers and defer the question to the women in the room. My male friends call this a "cop out" but, I sincerely believe that men should have absolutely nothing to say on the question.

Now I'm going to run for cover.

  4. Abortion is a choice for a reason, girls/women will do it legal or illegal. Im amazed that after all of these years its still up for debate when there are so many other issues that could be considered. It may not kill a young girl to give birth, but after being raped I think she as been though enough. Unfortunatly, ignorance plays a big roll in our society. Telling a raped woman she cannot get rid of the child and has to give it up because abortion is illegal is absurd! What if she was raped by her dad, brother or uncle? The child would more than likely be disabled. Why put the child or the parent through that? Freedom of choice is a great thing about being an american! They should leave it that way.

  5. I'll state here and now I disdain abortation, its wrong in my opinion except in the extreme cases of rape incest and to save the mothers life. It should not be used as a form of birth control.

But Iam a realist, it must be kept legal to be kept safe. I don't want to see any young women laying in a pool of their own blood in some back alley with a clothes hanger sticking out of her. If abortation is criminalized, thats exactly what may happen.

I would rather see 10 guilty men go free than one innocent man sent to prison, and the same holds true for abortations, I would rather see 10 fetuses dead than one woman in a pool of her own blood.

I am pro life, but I also understand Roe V Wade saved more lives than most people want to admit.

  6. I'm pro choice personally.

But I dont think it should be used as a method of birth control. People should be safe.

  7. Hey, I salute your school mates. They are much deeper thinkers than most kids!

I'm frankly concerned that you are basing your world view on Carlos Mencia. However, it just so happens that I saw that show and he wasn't using the illustration of some poor small girl getting raped. It was a teenage girl practicing promiscuous s*x.

In ANY situation, if you use enough imagination, you can come up with some horrific situation, that is the EXCEPTION to any rule. To have easy-access, get-it-when-you-want-it abortions for EVERYBODY just to protect that exception is pretty ludicrous.

Having said that, I don't think we will EVER see the day when abortions are totally illegal... just because of those occasional RARE situations you named. But I certainly do hope that we will see the day when abortions are much more stringently controlled than they are now. I have worked in OB and can tell you that girls so take abortions for granted that they don't want to be "hassled" with birth control, because if they do happen to get pregnant, they can always get an abortion. And that is just wrong!
