is it true that a car gets better mileage when a higher octane fuel is used like unleaded plus opposed too regular unleaded

  1. Your car is tuned to run on the grade of gas they recommend in your owners manual.  Higher grade gas might burn a little cleaner and hotter but the mileage increase will be minimal.


  2. not necessarily. every engine has its specified octane rating. read the manual or ask your local dealer for the octane rating for your car.

  3. Only if it's required as if not than> Than the difference is the amount you just spend for the higher Octane>

  4. if your car requires higher octane use it. if it does not require it there is no need to use it. It will not improve your milage. Higher octance is generally used for higher compression engines such as supercharged, tubrbocharged, or rotaries.
