Divine theories are idealistic, usually traditional or holy book-based thoughts on the origin of Earth, life, or humanity. Divine theories about Earth's origin are widely varied and huge in number; the three most common are the Judeo-Christian Creation, the Muslim Creation, and the Hindu Creation as dictated by the Bible, Qu'ran, and Bhagavat Purana, respectively.

The leading scientific theory for Earth's origin is known as the Solar Cloud theory, stating that Earth and the other planets and orbiting bodies formed from accumulation of planetesimiles and proto-planets 4.5 billion years ago due to gravitational attraction and condensation of gases.
