About this postal strike in UK?

Can someone just confirm for me that we won't even be getting any post today?

Just checking as we're waiting for a really big cheque in work today!

Is it postmen too, or just the sorting office staff? Thanks

  1. On strike, sorry.

  2. It's the postal service! Includes postmen, sorting office, and most post offices.

Chances are your cheque will not be arriving today.

  3. If the cheque's REALLY big then they'd need giants to deliver it, and they're DEFINITELY on strike, sorry...

  4. There wont be post for 24hrs and even if it's on recorded delivery you wont get it for a day or so as there's bound to be a back-log of mail now.

  5. It's everyone I'm afraid, although managers are working, If your cheque was sent by special delivery you might get it, otherwise it will be tomorrow.  Sorry.

  6. send an e-mail instead

    NO post today love

  7. it is ROYAL MAIL, they are mostly ALL on strike.

  8. just heard on radio definately no post today any letters posted 1st class today will not arrive untill monday or tuesday next week

  9. Hi there Kate, Im afraid that you wont get your cheque today unless it has been sent by special delivery. The vast majority or postmen/women and sorting staff will be taking strike action. Managers and the staff who have chosen not to strike are going to do their best to concentrate on the specials and sorting. But all other mail will be delayed.

Post Office staff are still working as usual.

  10. There will be NO post at all today.  It is the postmen AND the sorting office staff.

Seriously it will be the middle of next week before things return to 'normal'.

  11. Wait a go Royal Mail, Delivering a top notch service as usual!

  12. I think it is all of them. You probably won't get any post.Your cheque may not be till Monday now. Most firms don't like cheques any more . They are going out of fashion. Electronic transfers are the thing. You don't rely on the post then.
