Question:

About toric contact lenses...(for astigmatism)?

I heard from my eye doctor that I can't see as well in colored toric lenses than regular toric lenses? what's with that? I always thought the only thing different about color toric lenses was THE COLOR...

and also.

Did anyone have...semi blurry vision when first putting on toric lenses? I know the initial discomfort is normal for toric lenses, but I don't know if the blur is normal too. I only get the blur in one eye...the other one is fine...IDK if the blur is just because of the lens trying to "set" on your eye and will go away after a while...

thanks everyone

  1. The coloring in the lens would probably act as a filter preventing some of the light from penetrating into your eyes (which would make things a little harder to see).

As for the blur, the way toric lenses work is that they have a top and bottom (unlike regular lenses that can be in any position).  When you put the toric lenses into your eyes, they will generally take a few minutes to adjust in order to orient themselves into the top and bottom alignment.  However, that should only take a few minutes (at the most).  If it takes longer than that, you may want to go back to the doctor and make sure they are the right strength for your eyes.

  2. Yes, color lense are not as clear as those clear lenses.
