Accommodations near Glendalough ?

I'm looking for something less than $120 a night for two people. I've already checked on the Glendalough Hotel. A pub with accomodations would be great but any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. Check the net for pubs /hotels/b&b's in the general area. Villages such as Enniskerry, Powerscourt and Roundwood are more or less in Glendalough and the accomodation rates aren't too high in the locality

  2. Although it is a beautiful place with a lot of history, it's not a great place to stay as there is nothing there except ancient monuments two lakes and beautiful walks. However, if you are going on a walking holiday then it is great.

If you check out www.visitireland.ie you will get accommodation ideas.  There is a youth hostel there run by An Oige also but it is very basic accommodation.  The hotel is not great. I ate there recently and the food was poor. Glendalough area would not be a cheap place to stay as it is very popular with tourists.  You could try Laragh which is quite near.

For cheaper accommodation don't look at hotels look for what are called B&Bs (bed and breakfast). These are definitely cheaper.
