Accountants? Do you like your field?

Question

What advice would you give to someone who wanted to go for a career in accounting? How do I spend the least time in school and get the most out of it but still be able to get a job that will enable me to have time for other things?

My friend makes $19/hr. and works 9-5.  He hates his life and wishes he was back in high school and carefree.  He sits in a cubicle all day.

There are many types of accountants from the guy in the cubicle making $19/hr to tax accountants who make hundreds of thousands of dollars. The former doesn't require much education the latter does.

Acounting is add and subtract, multiply and devide, percents.  Not a brain stopper job.  No since going into accounting unless you plan on becoming a CPA.  Get paid for what you do.
