Hey!

I have done my GCSE but didn't get enough to enter sixth form, but I didn't really want to go to Sixth Form as I was having second thoughts anyway. But I have built up an acting CV a covering letter and all I am waiting for it to get my head shot back and I should sometime in the first week of September. I am also planning to get an agent to find me auditions I have 6 in mind, and told them to mail me back ASAP when they know if they would like to represent me or not. I have been acting since I was five, but never the main parts, but still serious parts. I am very serious about acting and was just asking do you think it would be good to give it a shot. I have a strong acting CV and lots of expirence. My boyfriend said he would take me to auditions and I can also learn to drive in January, so I can drive myself. I have all ways wanted to act and I know it's hard to get into the film world but I think I have what it takes. I also want to prove to my friends and teachers that I can do something great and the grades aren't everything and that I can do something big, like acting and succeed. You know prove to them that I am smart but in my own way and I think that acting can give me this. I am 16 btw. Thank you.

  1. have you seen http://www.actingsoup.com - it is a new, free social network for actors & actresses of all levels of experience...from starting out to well known professionals. You can upload your open video/audition clips and connect with other actors to get advice, join specialist acting groups etc. there are casting agent & producer groups too so you never know who might spot your clip or profile. if you have any talent you can more exposure online via an acting social networking community like that than going to a hundred auditions. and if it is free there is nothing to lose.

  2. I would not recommend it, I know many people who have moved to Los Angeles to make it big most are still working dead end jobs 10 years later

  3. "I'm very serious about acting" hahahahahahahaha

Say that again, oh God, that's rich. It has nothing to do with you. Agents don't just "get" you auditions, and they are competing with other, more powerful agents.

Stop trying to escape your school problems. Face them, and do acting on the side. Man, you are very naive.

  4. Okay i cannot be bothered to read all that ^ Lol soz, but if it has something to do with acting then pyursue your dream. You could even be an acting teacher at theatre or school. If I were you I would follow your heart and soul not your brain/head. . . I am doing acting as it is my dream and I love it. I know I will make it I have been attending drama school all my life and have had some great jobs surrounding acting. It is something you should continue if you have a passion for it because doing something you dont really wanna do will only make you bored of that subject you chose and not wanna do as well in it as you would do in something you enjoy.

  5. Not to burst your bubble but for every 10000 people that try to make it in the acting business only 1 ever succeeds. That you have done some acting already helps but does not guarantee you anything.

Case in point that Audrey Hepburn auditioned for the part of her own mother in a movie about her life and was turned down because she did not look enough like her own mother.

I have known several people that keep trying even into their 40's without ever making it big and they started in their teens.

But keep trying you may be one of the lucky ones, however keep up the school work because an education will keep you fed, clothed, and a place to sleep until you start acting on a steady basis.

  6. Just be aware that acting is EXTREMELY hard to get into, and even harder to break into bigger roles. I have plenty of friends who have been working at it for years with no success as yet. If you have the determination then go for it, but I suggest setting yourself up a good out-route incase it doesn't work out - if you don't then you are going to have problems starting a new career on the back of nothing.

Try joining an extras agency to get some experience infront of a camera, and to be in the situation of being on-set with professionals. All that experience will be a huge boost for your own attempt.

Good luck with your acting, hope you achieve your dream.
