I received acupuncture to my right forearm for treatment for tennis elbow. While having treatment [one needle in top of forearm] I started to feel dizzy and my sight went a little bit blurry .When I blinked I could see spots of light . My hearing started to sound like I was in a drum.

The physio stopped I had a drink of water and after about ten min's felt fine.

Has anyone else had a similar experience ?

  1. Sounds like you've had an oncoming migraine as a reaction to the needles and possible pain from your elbow, anxiety dehydrates your system, so next time before you get treatment drink plenty of water with a bit of sea salt.

  2. 10 years ago I had 3 sessions with an oriental lady acupuncturist for tennis elbow. No reaction whatsoever and I have been pain free all this time. A sports medicine doctor had given me a prescription for NSAID's. This was going to be very long term.I said I don't take any medicines. He said fill the prescription or never go back to him. It was great advice...I threw the prescription in the trash and went for acupuncture.....and I will never go back to him...
