Ad out and deuce in tennis??

in tennis...

i am confused about when the score is ad out and when it goes back to deuce. like i always thought that if u the server didnt get the point then it went back to deuce, but now i know it goes to ad out, at what point does it go back to deuce?

  1. If the score is ad out then the score goes back to deuce only if you score the next point.


  2. if the score is ad out, that means the person serving must get that point in order for the score to go back to deuce, and if they make another point, it turns into ad in, then they have to make another point to win the game. so basically, if it is ad out, the server must make 3 points IN A ROW to win the game.

    ad out---> deuce---> ad in---> game.

    thats assuming the server gets all the points

    if the score is ad out and the person not serving gets the point, then the game goes to them.

    ad means advantage

  3. Deuce (40-40)

        Deuce is kind of like a tie breaker.....both players have the highest score in a game and to decide who gets the point you must get a point(ad in or ad out).....you must get two points in a row (by the same player) to get that point.....if not u keep playing until it happens

    AD in and AD out

        AD in is when the server has gotten the first point....if the non-server scores the first point in deuce then it is called AD out
