Adding videos into itunes??

Question

I have a bunch of movies on my computer and I used to be able to just import them to itunes and put them on my ipod but now whenever I select import and press okay when i select the movie it just doesnt do anything. Why dont some of my movies add into itunes?? They all play as a normal movie on my computer but WILL NOT show up in itunes. PLEASE help me. =[
