  1. When I bought my new car, I only brought my driver's license and an old paycheck stub.  The paycheck stub doesn't even have my address on it since I pick it up at work (it's direct deposit).

For you, you should bring whatever mail you receive from a government agency or a big company.  It has to be something that you receive, not something you send out that has your information on it.

If you don't receive alot of mail (for instance, you usually pay bills online), you'll have problems proving that you live there.  Even if you mailed yourself a letter, you could be mailing a relative's house....that's why official mail is usually the requirement.  Try and see if you have any mail from before, even if it's a few weeks old.

  2. Hi,

I persume that your incometax returns paper is having the address proof and ur driving licence and pan card all of them are having the same address in that case you can insist and demand the vehicle be registered by the dealer and if they refuse you can tell them politely that you will be taking them to a consumer court by refusing to accept the address proof. But remember donot instruct or insult the man handling your case. since the dealer is only doing a service and may say that you may have to get the vehicle register yourself.

But you can also do the same on your own. but it will take more time for you go to RTO and get the vehicle registered.

Please remember no body can refuse to accept a valid govt document and not accepting your proof. you can sue them in civil court.

Any way please talk to the sales manager of the dealer and appraise him  and get the work done But to my knowledge RTO will accept IT papers as an authontic paper since you are  tax payer.

No such rule in RTO exist that It return papers will not be accepted. But one thing i forgotten that your name will be there in Ration card even if it is in your father or mother's name but your name must also be there in that case that is agin one more prrof you have.

    Please do the needful.

  3. Try Bank account in which you'll have your residential address.
