  1. Depends how big the tank is to be honest - if it is a big tank with lots of water you will also need to brace the corners with L shaped supports.

I have only ever seen one successful repair to a tank, but the tank was glass - not acrylic - and that was done using a low modulus silicon sealer and allowing a full 12 hour drying time before even attempting to put water in.

Low modulus silicon sealer is available from most DIY stores at about £6.00 - but you will also need a sealant gun to allow correct sealing and an even bead. Do NOT use a high modulus silicon - it stinks, takes a short time to dry and this cause problems with movement.

To be honest - you would be better off trying to contact a local supplier of fish tanks and asking them for their advice - if you put the fish in too early with silicon - you may poison them
