Adjusting Delta Monitor shower??

Question

Well i have a newer delta monitor shower (no bathtub) and i know that you have to take the handle off and turn the white ring. but i cant get the handle off. i took out the s***w (which was above the actual handle) and tried to pull and twist.

but i dont want to break it.

so can someone tell me how to remove the handle please?

has 2 types of handles, clear plastic or metal lever. Plastic one, remove index button w/small tipped flat head screwdriver or single edge razor blade. work tool around till easy. metal one you use 1/8" allen wrench, loosen approx 4 complete turns, wiggle to get off. If push come to shove, cut with hack saw. NOTE; there are 2 monitor cartridge, one has blue base, the other grey. If replacing cartridge get same color or it won't fit.
