Question:

Adopting a child?

by  |  earlier

I am thinking about adopting a child in about 2 to 3 years. However adoption is so expensive and I know some people don't want to go that route. What other things are there to do. I know some people just don't want their children and are willing to give them up, however I have never come in contact with these people.

Any comments, ideas...etc?

  1. That is a tough question.  Do you know anyone who has allready adopted children?  I would start there.  I am sure they could share their experiences. If you are looking for something else to do, i would recommend working with animals.  I guess that fills the gap for some people.

    Good luck!

  2. It is tough to find someone willing to give their child up.  And then they sadly often change their mind.  Sadly most unplanned pregnancies end in abortion.  Most others will not consider the adoption option.  In fact, on yahoo answers I have responded to some women that are upset and wondering what to do about their unplanned pregnancy.  I ALWAYS get a thumbs down or two if I mention adoption.  I really don't understand it. Sometimes adoption attorneys can steer you in the best direction.  I was adopted from the juvinile courts when I was 2.  My mother volunteered with the courts bringing things to foster children and abandoned and abused or neglected children.  All kids were not in foster care like most of them are now.  I was adopted in 1964 so things were very different.  But if you can volunteer in a childrens home, you will learn a great deal of things that should help you. You might call Birthright also.  They help women faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Good luck.

  3. mam you can have an adopted child but if u think it will not share its love to you .you can do a thing that u can have a tube baby

  4. Here is my suggestion: adopt through foster care in your state or province. There are thousands of children in the U.S. alone who are waiting for families. Most of these children have been removed from their homes for reasons ranging from neglect to sexual and physical abuse. Adopting through foster care is essentially free (with the exception of minor costs such as paying for your fingerprints, xeroxing tax returns, etc.) and you are helping a child who really needs a family rather than taking a child away from a family who, with a little support, might be able to parent on their own.

    Good luck!
