  1. We've been waiting a lot longer than 3 months and we have neither restriction (Caucasian or newborn).

    Good Luck with that!

  2. Yes,adoption can cost alot of money...

however what price can you put on any child's life....

Check out all your options first and make sure that you adopt not just you yourselves but for the best interests of the baby/child you are adopting...

Good luck with it all...as children are precious gifts from God

  3. It is all about supply and demand.  If you do not work with but three adoptive families at a time and are working with five birthmothers, the wait would obviously be short.  But if the agency has 150 adoptive parents and only 50 birthmothers, obviously most of these adoptive parents will be waiting a long time!  It isn't rocket science.  But there is no guarantee with any agency, especially if they are including the birthmother in the decision regarding the selection and approval of adoptive parents (which they should be doing!).  Some adoptive parents just do not get selected quickly.

  5. If I were you, I'd probably see about doing some research on this agency.  I'd ask for references and call each one to ask lots of questions (including, if you adopted again, would you use them again?).  I'd also scour the internet for any feedback on them (positive or negative).  Then there's the Better Business Bureau where you can see if they've had complaints filed against them and how those were resolved.

The old adage...if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, comes immediately to mind.

Also, I'm confused by the title to your question.  What is your question about costs?

Domestic adoption within the foster system is free or nearly so.  Domestic adoption privately is more expensive but has a huge range depending how who you use to facilitate & all.  International adoption can be anywhere between $5,000 and $50,000.

  6. Adoption in this country can be very costly.  However, many people do not realize that there are already thousands of children in the Statewide adoption network.  While most of these are not full of caucasian male newborns, they are kids who need families.  Also going through your local foster care  agency can put you in a foster adopt program.  Some children are taken directly from the hospital from birthmothers who cannot take care of them, and placed into foster adopt homes.  When that child comes up for adoption, and often they do, the foster parent gets to choose if they want to adopt.    Any agency who promises a few weeks to a couple of months strikes me as questionable.  Be careful where you place your money and your heart.

  7. Good luck, but have an open pocketbook.

  8. We were told when we started the adoption rollercoaster, that it would take up to 7 years to adopt a caucasion newborn.  I know a family who has waited 4 years and counting.  We decided to adopt a minority child and once signed on with the agency had our daughter within the month!
