I'm trying to send my friend in Tegucigalpa a package and I need to know a little about the adress system there... Does the mail get delivered right to the house? Do you have to put the barrio, state etc?

  1. Oh my God, why is it that people still think that any country in Central or South America is a god forsaken place where monkeys still climb trees and people don't brush their teeth? Pequen, of course that there are streets and addresses in Honduras and the rest of Central America!! Only the shanty town or very poor people who live in small villages may not have a complete address but the rest will have one.

Yes, write the street address, the number, the neighbourhood or barrio, the city and country. And yes, in Honduras the postal service will deliver the package to the house just as any postal service in the world.

Just make sure you've got the name and the street well printed.

  2. Not sure in Honduras but I know in many Central American countries there are no street names.  It goes like this: From the Hospital so and so, 3 blocks south and one to the mountain. Some houses may have numbers and some do not.  See if he has a post office box.  That would be the easiest.
