Advancing as a CRNA?

As a CRNA what opportunities during your career do you have to advance in the the profession.(differently put)- What promotions can a CRNA get? Thanks in advance

  1. You might get to add administrative duties to your workload, if that interests you.  You may get to teach nurse anesthesia students.  You might get to make the call schedule, and pick which nights you want to be on call.

    Other than that, not a lot.


  2. Basically, you can be a 'chief' CRNA, but that's it.

    You can also teach.

  3. Not much because you are always going to have to work under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.  The profession of CRNAs is a little over-hyped.  For the amount of schooling, the pay isn't that great.
