Afternoon tea in Edinburgh?

I'd love to have a traditional afternoon tea with my girlfriends in Edinburgh when we will be there in August. I've looked into the Balmoral Hotel but it's a bit pricey - is there somewhere more affordable?

try the Baxters in Ocean Terminal upstairs in the Baxters shop very reasonable and very very yummy

Balmoral is the main place as far as I know.

I've heard that the chocolate place on the Royal Mile does good afternoon tea (although its probably a bit different from What you would expect at the Balmoral).  

Its called Plaisir Du Chocolate...I've never actually been, but I definately want to go soon!
