Air Force Basic Questions

Question

How is the food in Basic?

Do you shower with other guys in basic?

How often can you call home and/or write while in basic?

Do you go home briefly before going to technical school?

Do you have your own room in technical school?

How many hours of freetime do you get in technical school on average?

Does the AF come get your things like the Navy does?

Is the AF a better choice for a family as opposed to the Navy?

Answer 1

1 - Not as bad as you'd think, but not awesome - eat fast!!!

2 - You shower with the other guys (big room with 6 or 8 shower heads for the girls, guessing guys would be the same)

3 - You can write just about every night - whether or not you get to mail it is another story...  Phone calls depends on your instructors and the overall behavior of your flight - I had 2 phone calls, others were able to call weekly...

4 - Sorry, you don't get to go home unless it is Christmas time.  But, your family can come see you graduate BMT and spend a little time with you!

5 - You should have one roommate and share a bathroom with another room.

6 - Tech School free time really depends on the school you go to, as they are all so different it isn't fair to give you a guestimate

7 - If you mean does the AF move your household items to your first duty station - yes they do.  However, you are supplied a bed, wall locker, dresser etc - so don't plan on bringing them.

8 - I believe both the Navy and the AF are both good for families.  AF personnel deploy, whereas the Navy personnel will deploy or go out to sea if they are assigned to a ship/boat...

food in basic is c**p SOS hahaha

and yes you do shower with other guys dont get a hard on

u can call or write when ever u have free time not that much

u dont get that much time to go home sorry

no u get a bud or 2 other people

2 per day if ur lucky

no they dont

navy u get away from home months at a time af u do alot of missions
