Air conditioner-high humidity?

My apt. A.C. seems not to be removing humidity. Stays cold and clammy. So I keep a dehumidifier running. Removes 2 gallons a day. There is a clear plastic tube visable on unit but never has any sign of condensation. Apt. management won't even look into matter. What to do? What can I do to fix?

  1. THE ANSWER BY WOUNDED DUCK IS THE MOST ASSININE STATEMENT I'VE EVER HEARD. If your unit is oversized it will cool the room too quickly without having the oppurtunity to dehumidify which is most certainly the job of the a/c unit. You can try lowering the fan speed by one speed to slow down the cooling process.

  2. It is NOT the job of an air conditioner to remove humidity!
