  1. Aircraft fuel temperature are measured in the tanks with fuel temp probes. It is not the heat that is being monitored but fuel becoming cold so fuel before going through their respective engine passes through a fuel/oil heat exchanger where the oil being hot cools as the fuel passes through it and the fuel gets heated through heat transfer. In case of fuel temperature not sure of the number figure -40 a fuel heater is switched on to ensure fuel is heated before going through their respective engine fuel pumps.

  2. The average temperature of an aircraft's fuel is around 410 degrees Fahrenheit. But not to worry it is impossible for the fuel to be hot enough to melt the airplane. No kerosene could be heated enough by the engine of the aircraft to a degree high enough to melt the steel. Just as during the 9/11 attacks. The first guesses were that the fuel melted through the cabin and murdered the pilots.
