I have my A&P and work at a recip engine shop. This isn't what I want to do. I would like to make the transition to bigger airplanes, but do not have enough experience to go to an airline. Do any MRO offer apprenticeships? I saw Lufthansa Tecknik offered an apprenticeship, but I don't know how I could get in there and If I could move to Germany. I am willing to move to some places, but not the middle east :) or the midwest of the USA. I live in Arizona and there is a pretty stable aviation market here, but it is hard to gain experience. I am just looking for info on furthering my a&p career.

  1. you could try timco in goodyear,az. if your a structures guy then boeing does alot of military contracts and always looking for skilled techs. also evergreen air center in pinal air park, az outside tucson. evergreen might be your best bet no one wants to work there.

  2. My co-A&P, why not try Singapore or first, it's sister companies there in Mobile, Alabama and San Antonio, the ST Aerospace Engineering. Had a friend there who was a component mechanic, there he does flight control surface rigging. after the experience and knowledge, he is now in Line working for an airline.
