Alcudia or Puerto Pollensa?

Question

We have 2 kids 8 & 11 and want a family resort with good hotels.

Someone has reccommended either Alcudia or Pollensa- Where should we go and why?

Puerto Pollensa- Definitley.

By far the nicest resort on the island. Absolutley perfect for a discerning family looking for nice accomodation, nice restuarants and a great beach holiday. Its not cheap, but it is a lovely resort on a very versatile holiday island.

Pollensa is not for those looking for busy nightlife, but if you're idea of a holiday is relaxing in pretty surroundings, near a lovely beach with no lager louts and you like a nice meal at night followed by a glass or two of wine then it has to be Pollensa.

Accomodation wise, theres lots to chose from. For your family, I would reccomend the following hotels.

1, The Illa D'or- My favourite but might be pricey

2. Club Pollentia- great all round family hotel

3. Daina- Great Location and very popular with repeat bookers

4. Miramar- On the promenade in the centre.

Apartments are plentiful too- try

1. Daina apts- again in the centre- hard to beat for location

2. Duva Great complex, a little away from the centre but not too far.

3. Club del sol- family complex again away from the centre but well worth considering

Alcudia is ok, but Pollensa is pretty special and so much more up-market!
