Question : Describe the value of a, b and c for which the solutions of ax^2 + b = c are rational

  1. Answers are rational if : b^2 - 4ac >=0


  2. I think you meant:  ax^2 + bx = c, which is the quadratic equation.

    The solutions are rational when the discriminant of the quadratic formula---(b^2 - 4ac)---is non-negative AND a perfect square.
