your cell phone plan costs $40 per month plus $.10 per text message. You receive a bill for $53.80.

a) complete the table below. Use the table to estimate how many text message you sent.

b) what would be the equation to solve to find exactly how many text messages you sent.

    $40    $45    $50     $55     $60

you estimate a little above half way between 100 and 150 which would be approximately 130

b) sum=(a-b)/c

with

(a) being the $53.80 bill

(b) being your $40.00 plan

(c) being the $0.10 per each message

you would get

138=($53.80-$40.00)/$0.10

heyy that sounds like my bill exect the bill was for 330$ total =o

divided by .10

i think its 38 text messeges sent im not sure thats how i figure out how much text im over my allowance of texts

not everyone here might give you fully answer you should join a math club or math tutoring is good and getting answers is not gonna help you learn it might be wrong you should double check the answer before writing it down

$53.80 - $40= 13.8$

and this is the remain money that you use to text. right?

and now doing like:

1 text cost .10

then 13.8$ will get how many txts?

ok.

let's see:

0.10$ - 1 txt

13.8$ -  x

x= (13.8 * 1)/0.10

x=138 txts

you got 138 txts.
