ok i am doing an assignment and im having trouble rounding. i am trying to predict the life expenctany for 1996... and i need to round 0.825 to the neREST tenth would it be 0.8 or 0.83? please help

it'd be .8 because if your rounding to the tenth just ignore the numbers after the tenth spot after you round the number and put 0s instead

if you are asked to round to the nearest tenth.  that is the first place after the decimal.  Therefore, your answer should only go as far as the first place after the decimal.

look at the number to its right and determine if you should take your number up or down.

to the nearest tenth:

0.83 would become 0.8

had it been

0.85, your answer would be 0.9
