can you guys please help me with these equations?

1.simplify: (3a^2b)(2a^3b^2)

2.simplify:8x^3y^2

_________

12xy^5

I got 4x^2y^3 for that one but i am not sure.

3. x+y=8

x-y=2

I have no idea how to do number 3.

thanks..

  1. 1. i assume you mean (3a^2 * b)(2a^3 * b^2)

    you'll get 6 * a^5 * b^3

    2. you can't simplify that!

    3. using x - y = 2, you get x = y + 2

    sub this into x + y = 8, you'll get:

    (y + 2) + y = 8

    2y + 2 = 8

    2y = 6

    y = 3

    x = 3 + 2

       = 5

  2. I  have  no  idea.  Sorry.  You  can  go  to  some  maths  Websir=tes  on  the  net  for  Help.

    Extremely  Sorry.

  3. 1. 6a^5b^3

    2. 2x^2/y^3

    3. solve for x, in the eq. x-y = 2

    x=2+y now substitute this value of x into eq x+y=8 and you get

    2+y+y=8, simplify

    2y=6

    y=3

    Now put in 3 in place of y and you should get x=5

  4. 1.simplify: (3a^2b)(2a^3b^2)

    ***this only means multiply

    = 3(2)(a^2+3)(b^1+2)

    = 6a^5b^3

    2.simplify:8x^3y^2

    _________

    12xy^5

    ***following the rules of law of exponent and division

    .     .2(4)(x^3-1)(y^2-5)

    .     ._________

    .     .3(4)

    ***we get

    .     .2(x^2)(y^-3) / 3

    *** since we always follow the rules on positive exponents just invert it. So we get

    .     .2x^2 / 3y^3

    3. x+y=8

    x-y=2

    ***use substitution method.

    eq1: x + y = 8

    eq2: x - y = 2

    *** I will use eq2 first...

    eq2: x = y + 2

    ***then substitute the answer to eq1. We get.

    eq1: (y + 2) + y  = 8

    ***then

    eq1: 2y + 2 = 8

    ***next

    eq1: 2y = 8 - 2

    ***divide both side to the numerical coefficient 2

    eq1: 2y/2 = 6/2

    ***then

    eq1: y = 3

    ***final substitution

    eq1: x + 3 = 8

    ***so we get

    x = 5

    while

    y = 3

  5. 1. (3a^2b)(2a^3b^2) = 6b^3a^5

    2. 8x^3y^2 = 8y^2x^2

  6. 3. x+y=8

        x-y=2

    from first equation, we get

    x=8-y

    putting the value of x in second equation,

    8-y-y=2

    -2y=-6

    y=3

    x=8-y=5

    check:  x+y=5+3=8

    x-y=5-3=2
