  1. 1. (x-y)^3

    2. n/2 = 16

    3. n/2

    4. 2y + y^2 = x

    5. (2n/3) - 11

  2. difference means subtract and cube means do to the third power

    so (x - y) ³

    of means times so 1/2 n = 16

    quotient means divide so n ÷ 2

    twice means times 2 so 2y + y² = x

    2/3 n - 11

  3. 1.  The difference between x and y is simply (x - y) and the cube of (x - y) is (x - y)^3

    2. .5x = 16 or 1/2(x) = 16 which has the solution x = 32

    3. Quotient is the result of division, therefore, x/2

    4. 2 times y + y squared = x or 2y + y^2 = x

    5. 2/3(x) - 11

    Hope that helps!
