Jean Claude Van Damme was a mediocre kickboxer at best. Van Damme fought at about 170 lbs. so he wasn't even Ali's weight class. Ali was considerabley larger than Van Damme and he could hit harder. I have seen boxers lose to kickboxers due to their inability to handle a kick. In a boxing match Van Damme would lose. In a kickboxing match Van Damme would win provided that he could avoid getting hit too many times by Ali.

van damme was actually a realy good kickboxer, all the chezzy stuff from his movies aside back in his fighting prime van damme would have probably have won bc ali probably wouldent have been able to handle the kicks( if they fought a form of K1 rules) had it been boxing rules ali would have murdered him in the first
