All the construction over at Luxor?

Question

I heard that there were constructions going on at Luxor.

I stayed there about 5 years ago and liked it, but if they are under renovation I do not want to go there.

I'm planning a visit to Vegas first week of November.

I was there over the 4th of July weekend and found that they were still working on parts of the casino floor and on the atrium level.  If you are going to stay there I recommend paying the $10 extra a night and stay in the Tower rooms vs. staying in the Pyramid rooms.  The tower rooms are much roomier and overall nicer & away from any of the construction noisse that may or may not be taking place.  From the Luxor website the Pyramid rooms are all going to get a makeover in 2009.  BTW: the sections of the casino they have completed are much nicer then the old outdated Egyptian motif they used to have.  Also you may want to check out New York New York, they are redoing their casino floor too and will look much nicer than it used to.

Luxor is changing the inside interior from Egyptian to more modern, nothing outside!!!  We were there during day for meeting and hurt no noise.

The Luxor has really gone downhill. I stayed there about 5 years back and love it, but then stayed there in january and was very dissapointed.

If you dont want to pay for the nice strip resorts, try some of the off strip places like Orleans, or Southpoint. They are better then Luxor but at hald the price.
