Allowance for 2 kids?

Question

we budget for 5.00 per week for our two children

one is 7

one is 4

They have to put half in the bank and half into their piggie banks to save for a big toy or to use for whatever they want

How does this sound?

They have normal chores to laundry, dishes, wipe table, sweep, put away clothes..etc..

personaly i think that the older one should get more responsibilty and a lil more money maybe an extra two dollars or something,,,,just so she can feel like the more responsible and so both children can learn there place in the family ...........

also might encourage the older sister to look out for the younger one and also for the younger sister to look up to her older sister due to her added responsibilty...sorry  u didnt specify if they were girls or boys,,,i was just guesing,,

I think that awesome and I under stand I don't think it really about paying them to do chores I think that it more like getting them ready to use money wisely when they get old teaching kids to save is a get thing to do for them I do feel like you should give them money if they don't help out  but I don't think you should make it to wear they feel like it a both that you have to do this and that for them and no one pay you no one told you to have the kid either I don't think people under stand how hurt for that can be to a kid and i feel sorry for the kids that have parents that think that way

I never believed in paying kids for chores, in my home everyone pitches in, they live there then they work. I give them money for things they need and it works out fine. I tell them nobody pays me to do your clothes, why should you be paid?

Your idea sounds so much better than some parents, who spoil theirs kids by just handing out money as a means to get the kids out of their hair. Your program can teach them the value of money and teach them that chores need to be done.
