Am I dyslexic?........

Question

I have no problem reading. Numbers are okay most of the time. However, when I write or type I sometimes switch two letters. i.e. if I am typing "name" I'll type "mane." Lately, it's been occurring more frequently.

If I only do this occasionally am I dyslexic? or is it just slight dyslexia? It's more frustrating than a problem.

Your example of "name to mane" could simply be a typing error. Look down at your mistakes and see if the keys are right next to each other. Maybe you just need to type a bit slower.

everybody makes some errors--it does not sound like dyslexia--

it usually just measn teh brain and the hands are working at different speeds....temporarily

I do that sometimes with yeah or some other short word. It's just your mind going faster than you can actually move your fingers....

If it gets worse maybe you should go get a test done , I'd ask your doctor first since they'd be able to tell you which deptartment you need to look into.

That could be dyslexia, but it's not severe enough to be concerned about. If you have problems reading then it's a problem. I have only slight dyslexia, and I have problems typing, and sometimes I read the same sentence over and over. I could not count picket fences either.

How old are you? If you are dyslexic, I would hope someone would have given you a diagnosis and help long before now. Dyslexia is a reading disability. My son had a year of vision therapy in worcester massachusetts. This intensive difficult work improved his reading and comprehension significantly. He was 8 years old. We saw teens and adults alike at the sessions. I highly recommend it. The therapists were trained optometrists.
