Am I registered to vote?

How do I check to see if i'm registered to vote? is there a number or website i should visit, and is it too late? I think I'm registered, but just not sure.

There are offices in your area set up specifically for registering to vote, poll work, and other election-related things.  Contact them.  If you voted in the last election, you may still be registered, but if you have moved in between now and the last election, you will need to update your information to ensure your name is on the books for this election.  They will remove your name after a certain number of years if you have been inactive (that is, your name in the books does not have your initials and signature).

You think you're registered? Did you physically go down to Town Hall and register? If so, you're registered...if not, you aren't. Go down to Town Hall and see if they have you listed.

Don't you have to have a Voters Registration Card to vote? If you don't have one, how will you vote?

You have to fill out and submit the proper forms/paperwork in order to be registered to vote.  Different states have different rules.  Here in Michigan, you can register to vote at the office of the Secretary of State, or you can register to vote simply by going to your City Hall.  However you register, your state should send you a voter's registration card that you will be asked to present when you go to vote.

If you haven't registered to vote by now, you're out of luck.  You must register to vote at least 90 days before the general election to be allowed to vote in November.
