Am i going blind? Help please?

Lately i have been seeing like dark and bright lights in my vison. They leave very quickly and they don't occur too often. i also frequently see black and white fuzzy dots in my vison on a regular and this started a year ago. i also get these head aches from time to time but after the headache is gone i can see pretty well without wearing my glasses which is so weird. i know my vison is pretty bad because i'm 21 and my prescription is -7.25 i would go to the doctor but i don't have health insurance and i owe my doctor money so she won't see me till i pay so i was wondering if anyone could give me soem idea whats going on with my eyes and if i should scrap up the money for the bill and get checked out.

go to the eye doctor immedietyly if it seems like cameras are flashing in your eyes, that could lead to blindess, its a disease called glaucoma, i have floaters in my eyes, they are like black dots with tails floating around everywhere in my eye, well good luck.

What it really seems like you have is a migraine... I get those often, it can be caused by your prescription being at the wrong level. It doesn't mean you are going blind. But you should consult your doctor and your optometrist to get the right prescription. But you should really go to the doctor because sometimes not to alarm you but there could be something happening in your head that causes the headaches/migraines. Maybe go to a free clinic that could probably help with the paying thing. Sorry I am only sixteen I am not too well with the doctor situations myself.

Sounds like a migraine to me, which present with flashing lights or auras, headaches, and temporary vision changes.  The black and white fuzzy dots are probably floaters, parts of the back of your eye that have broken off and are now floating in the liquid in your eye.  They are completely normal.  They will look like they are floating and will be more evident on a light background.

Unfortunately, retinal detachments present with similar symptoms.  Bright flashes of light with an onset of a lot of floaters (like rain) is what doctors tell you to watch out for.  Missing vision, like a blackout, or vision changes are other signs.  The fact that you are a high myope puts you at a greater risk of a retinal detachment because your retina stretches out thinner as your eyeball grows longer.  Retinal detachments are very serious and can lead to blindness if not corrected quickly.

Like I said, it sounds more like migraines because you do get headaches.  I would try to pull some money together soon, though, to get checked out just to make sure it's not something serious and hopefully get some relief.  

If you notice black-out vision, sustained vision change, or that rush of floaters, get to an emergency room, though!  Good luck!
