Question

Does anyone know if when you purchase a ticket on AA.com if the ticket is just the email you recieve that says "E-Ticket Confirmation" ?

the email you recieve is your confirmation. when you get to the airport to check in, you will be issued the actual ticket/boarding pass.

It's a good idea to print and take a copy of the confirmation.. can make it easier sometimes for the person checking you in to retrieve your reservation.

No. In your email is your reservation number. You can either show that at the counter or enter it in at a kiosk to get your boarding passes.

You may be able to print your boarding pass if you already have a seat assignment, but if you have to check your bags, that doesn't save you much.
