  15. In the UK, what we call biscuits, the Americans call cookies. To them, a biscuit is more like a savoury scone that you have with gravy.

I was in the USA a few years ago and I needed a knife and fork; I asked for cutlery which the waitress didn't understand. The Americans call it silverware. To me, that is what you'd call cutlery in an upmarket restaurant!

    Also - zip code/post code

and a topical one: Foreclosure - repossession!

  16. sneakers- trainers

  17. Lots or loads of the differences.  Like when the Brits say, I feel peckish, we wonder if they are saying something obscene.   Or the bit about  opening the boot of a car?  We wonder if they didn't pay their traffic tickets and are now jimmying loose something the police put on their tires.  Or posting a letter--we wonder  if they are stapling it on a telephone pole down the block ?

    LOL, good fun, mate!
