Question:

American Intercontinental University?

I was thinking about going back to college online and a representative from American Intercontinental University (AIU) contacted me today and was giving me information on their programs. But he told me I had until noon tomorrow to complete the application. Classes don't start until the middle of October and I have other college's to check out.

Has anyone had any experience with this school? Are they a good school? I don't like being rushed into a major decision like that.

  1. When ever they rush you like that, they are dishonest and trying to make money off you ANY WAY THEY CAN. Shop around, and then MAYBE look at that college again.

  2. email me and we'll talk...

otherwise they are just pressuring you so he/she can make the sell.

  3. Don't believe them. There like car salesmen. I had contacted them about attending there and they lied out there ***. As far as having until noon let noon roll around and there going to give you another 24 hrs to do it. They'll give you some c**p about they just talked to the boss and since they have so many people there going to give another day for you to register. They also got in trouble and almost had there accreditation taken from them and they didn't even tell me about it.

  4. generally speaking, admissions folks at for-profits (such as AIU) are under a lot of pressure to get applications and then enroll students. Now in some cases, they do have a legitimate deadline, as they have to get your HS transcripts, and other documents, and sometimes this takes time. In other cases, the rep will try the high-pressure thing. I am sure that you will hear from the rep again in a day or two....

You have to make the best choice of college for yourself. It should not be a decision that you make suddenly or take lightly: it is your future.

I will state that I think the curricula at AIU is well-put together, the faculty are caring professionals, and that they offer a great opportunity for many students. They are regionally accredited.

(I do not work for them or the parent company by the way).
