Hello, I am an American with Italia decent and I am applying to get my Italian passport. I heard that Italian enjoy free health care. So my question would be, when I get my Italian passport, even if I am still living in the USA will I also get free health care in the USA (because I would also be an Italian)?

Thenks!

  1. No chance. Italians here have to pay for health care like anyone else. If you were resident in Italy you might qualify for the Italian health care system.

  2. It does not matter what you here.......Nothing is Free.

You would have to live in Italy to reap the benefits, and you cannot live outside of the USA more than 6 months at a time.  It is not as great as it all sounds.
